Work related provision
Two of the regional Pathfinders worked on this strand.
The Thomas Danby College, part of the West Yorkshire Pathfinder developed and piloted an initial assessment tool for use in the work place, assessing and identifying training needs and offering a solution to companies involved such as banana and ice-cream factories. The toolkit includes a personal needs questionnaire which can be given to a group of basic skills learners, allowing ESOL learners to be identified.
Bradford College worked with @Work recruitment and have produced a report, session plan and some materials on signage.
Liverpool Community College and Blackburn College together produced guidelines to support organisations setting up and developing work place learning.
They produced materials for a workshop style course to support people wishing to set up, or already running successful businesses. They also developed materials to support a course for taxi drivers, mapped to the curriculum at Entry Level 1 Speaking and Level 1 Writing.
