The Further Education Teachers' Continuing Professional Development and Registration (England) Regulations 2007

From 2008 all teachers* are required to:

• undertake 30 hours of CPD per academic year or pro-rata equivalent if working part-time, with a minimum requirement of 6 hours irrespective of size of contract

• maintain a record of the CPD they have undertaken per academic year and make it available to the Institute for Learning and their employer or, where they have more than one, each of their employers, for inspection
