| Entry requirements | Ideally you should have a standard of education equivalent to that required for entry into higher education and have a standard of English which will enable you to teach at a range of levels. You may still be eligible, even if you do not have formal qualifications at this level if you can demonstrate that you would be likely to complete the course successfully. | Course content | There are six main units of learning: Language awareness; The learner, the teacher and the teaching/learning context; Planning for effective teaching of adult learners of English; Classroom management and teaching skills for teaching English to adults; Resources and materials for teaching English to adults; Professional development for teachers of English to adults. Course aims: The course enables candidates to acquire essential subject knowledge and familiarity with the principles of effective teaching, acquire a range of practical skills for teaching English to adult learners, and apply your learning in a real teaching context. You will undertake a total of 6 hours of teaching practice as part of the course. |
